Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (FABM)
Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (FABM) is a designation bestowed by the Academy upon qualified members. The applicants must be licensed physicians of any specialty who have demonstrated evidence of advanced knowledge and skills in the fields of breastfeeding and human lactation. FABM denotes that the physician has ongoing specialized professional activities related to clinical expertise, research or teaching experience, and/or significant advocacy efforts in the field of breastfeeding medicine.
Before completing the Fellowship Application, we ask that you first complete the short Pre-Application, and submit to the ABM office (abm@bfmed.org or fax to 914-740-2101). The Pre-Application is available below in Adobe PDF format, as well as a Microsoft Word document. Once submitted and reviewed by the Fellowship Chairs, you will receive a response with further instructions within 2-4 weeks. The Pre-Application deadline is April 30, 2011.

Maintenance of Fellowship
Maintenance of Fellowship materials are included in this set of instructions and application. Maintenance of Fellowship is required every 10 years. Those who want to apply for Maintenance should read the instructions and complete the application.
Submissions Policy for Fellowship Applications
Applications may be submitted by one of the following methods:
1) Electronically to abm@bfmed.org with credit card information. You may also submit your application electronically, and mail your application fee (US Funds only) to the ABM office.
2) A hard copy application may be mailed to the ABM office.
