General FAQ

Why is the ABM Annual International Meeting moving to a virtual format?

Due to COVID-19 and current Illinois rules and regulations, an in-person meeting is impractical to hold. The safety and health of ABM members, attendees, and exhibitors are our priority.

What are the dates and times of the virtual meeting?

Live and pre-recorded sessions will be held on November 5-7, 2020 from 8am-2pm CT/1pm-7pm UTC. 

What’s included in my registration?

The full meeting registration fee includes: all education sessions, e-poster presentations, access to a virtual exhibit hall, and CE/CME and CERPS. Attendees of the Annual Meeting can earn up to 30 hours of CE/CME. All attendees will have on-demand access to the educational content through October 31, 2021.

How many CE hours are available?

Annual Meeting attendees can earn up to 30 hours of CE/CME. Preconference events are not included in the Annual International Meeting registration.

Will “What Every Physician Needs to Know Course I and II” take place?

These courses will not take place during the virtual meeting.

When will registration open?

Registration will open in August. View registration rates by visiting the ABM website.

Will the educational sessions be available after the live event?

All educational sessions will be recorded and made available to attendees who register for the meeting for up to one year.

Will there be specific hours for the Virtual Exhibit hall?

The Exhibit Hall will have specific hours throughout the live meeting. You will have a chance to speak with the exhibitors live thru Zoom chat and can also schedule times to talk with them that are more convenient for you. Please view our schedule for virtual exhibit hours.

Will the Annual International Meeting have an online community for attendees to network?

Yes! ABM is happy to provide an Annual International Meeting group, which will be hosted through our member community MyABM. Both member and nonmember attendees will have access to the group throughout the meeting. The tutorials below provide a how-to on accessing the platform, setting up an account, and posting and interacting in the group.


Zoom FAQ for Attendees

How do I download Zoom?

You can download the Zoom Desktop Client for Mac, Windows, ChromeOS and Linux, as well as the Zoom Mobile App for iOS and Android from their Downloads page.

Virtual private networks (VPN's) can slow down your connection, so make sure to disconnect from your VPN before entering the ABM Annual International Meeting.

You can also open a zoom link in your web browser if zoom if you don't have the Zoom Client downloaded.

Do you need an account to use Zoom?

A Zoom account is not required if you are strictly joining Zoom Meetings as a participant. If someone invites you to their meeting, you can join as a participant without creating an account.

All sessions will be accessible via Zoom. Individual Zoom links will be available for each session and only registrants will have access to the links.

How will I access the sessions through Zoom?
  1. Login to ABM 2020 Virtual Annual International Meeting online.
  2. Go to the desired session you would like to join.
  3. Select if you would like to connect audio and/or video and click Join. If you haven't enabled the setting to automatically join by computer audio, you can test your speaker and microphone before joining a meeting.
How to add the ABM Virtual Background?
  1. Save your favorite ABM Virtual Background to your computer or mobile device. Virtual Backgrounds can be found here.
  2. In the Zoom Session move your mouse to hover over the bottom of your Zoom Video. You will see an arrow next to the "Stop/Start Video" button.
  3. Click on the arrow, then click, "Choose Virtual Background…"
  4. The Settings screen will pop up. Click the "+" button where you see Virtual Backgrounds. This will allow you to add an image from your computer or mobile device.
  5. Once the ABM background is uploaded, make sure you click on it in Settings.
  6. You can click out of Settings once you see your Virtual Background.
Where is the mute button?

The mute button is on the bottom left. Please be aware of when your surrounding when you are not on mute.

How do I chat in Zoom?

The "Chat" button is on the bottom of your screen when you hover over it with your mouse. A separate chat tab will appear to the right of your screen or in a pop-up window if you are in full-screen mode. You have the opportunity to chat with everyone and ask questions to the speakers.


Planstone FAQ for Attendees

How do I access Planstone?

You will be able to access Planstone from the Know Before You Go email or on your registration confirmation email.

What Platforms are Planstone compatible with?

Planstone supports the latest version of Chrome, the current and previous release of Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft browsers. To use Planstone, cookies and JavaScript must be enabled.

How long will the sessions be accessible on Planstone?

The sessions will be accessible for one year after the conference. These sessions will be housed under the "Sessions" tab.

How do I get to the Help Desk?

You can access the Help Desk by clicking the "Help" button in the top right corner of the screen. This "Help" tab will be run by the ABM staff. If you need to contact Planstone directly, then please use the "Feedback and Support" button.

How do I know how many credits I have earned?

You will be able to see how many credits you have earned at the top of the "Sessions", "Additional Events", and "Posters" tab. A credit will be added after you have completed a session evaluation for every presentation you watch/participate in.

How will I access the live sessions in Planstone?

The live sessions will be included on the "Home" and "Full Schedule" tab. You will click the Zoom link that is included on those tabs and it will take you to the live session. Recordings of the live sessions will be added to the "Sessions" tab.

How do I access a pre-recorded session?

All pre-recorded sessions will be under the "Sessions" tab.

How do I ask questions about a Poster?

Go to the "Posters" tab and click on the Poster you would like to review or discuss. Once you click on the poster, Planstone will open the poster in a new tab and a small window will pop up that says, "Discuss the Poster." Once you post a question or comment, then the author will get a notification and will respond shortly. You can hide this discussion tab by clicking the arrow at the top of the pop-up screen.

How do I get my CE/CME and how long will it take?

Click on the "Certificates" tab and choose the certificate you are looking to obtain. A new screen will open and click the "Evaluate Now" button to start the evaluation. Once you have completed the evaluations for the sessions you attended, you will be able to download your certificate immediately.
